Tungsten bar has excellent properties including good electrical conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient and high corrosion resistance, etc. All unalloyed tungsten bar is produced by powder-metallurgy methods. Comparing with molybdenum bar, tungsten bar has higher strength at temperatures above 2,000°F. The elastic modulus of tungsten is about 25% higher than that of molybdenum. What's more, the density of tungsten bar is almost twice as much as that of molybdenum bar.

Tungsten bars with impurities are used to procedure bulb filaments or electron tube filaments, which are guaranteed to have remarkable resistance to high temperature for making special steel, tungsten wire and electric contact point. Tungsten Bar in Steel Making

Tungsten bar is most widely used in steel making. In the steel making industry, tungsten bar is usually applied as an additive. The purity is at least 99.93% according to Chinese Standard. There are four grades of tungsten bar, which ranging from W-1 to W-4.Steel making tungsten bar is also used as found ingredient of material, cutter and heads, tungsten wire for lights instruments, electric contact points and conductor of heat, crankshaft and cylinder barrel of advanced automobile, ingredient of kinds of heat-resistant steel.

Mainly used for foundry materials tool bit of processing lathe, and conductors, steel-making burdening and additives crankshaft and cylinder burdening and electrodes for advanced automobiles for the manufacture of guns, artillery, rockets, satellites, aircrafts and ships.

Tungsten bars are also used for making special steels, to make guns, artillery rockets, satellite airplane and ship. It has a luster rather like that of silver in uniform color. Though the whole bar may slightly curve, the maximum height of the bend should not be more than 7mm.
