Cesium Tungsten Bronze Applied for Building Energy Efficient Glass

Cesium tungsten bronze for preparing building energy efficient glass is CsxWO3 nanopowder that can be prepared by solvothermal method using tungsten chloride (WCl6) and cesium hydroxide monohydrate (CsOH·H2O) as raw materials, and ethanol and acetic acid as reaction solvents. Some experts have adopted this method to synthesize CsxWO3 powder, and have investigated the effects of reaction solvent ratio, reaction temperature and Cs/W ratio on the phase composition, microstructure and near-infrared shielding performance of the CsxWO3 product.

The results showed that when the ratio of solvent was 20% acetic acid and 80% ethanol, the reaction temperature was 220 °C, and the Cs/W was 0.6, the obtained product is a regular shaped rod of about 50 nm. Moreover, at this time, the near-infrared shielding performance of CsxWO3 is the best, with a visible light transmittance of 63% and a near-infrared light transmittance of 5.8%. Certainly, for applying to the building energy-saving doors and windows, the preparation method of cesium tungsten bronze nanopowder needs to be improved.
