Tungsten Concentrate Gravity Separation – Rod Mill

After artificial beneficiation, tungsten concentrate will enter gravity separation process. Grinding process is coarse grinding. Rod mill is to grind tungsten concentrate for the jigging separation in next step. It is not simple grinding. 

The best grain size for jigging is 15mm~25mm, if it is too coarse or too fine will both affects next step of beneficiation. So rod mill is required.

There are two kinds of grinding machine, one is rod mill, the other is ball mill. Tungsten concentrate is fragile, during grinding process, ball mill will over grinding tungsten concentrate crystalline, and will be eliminated from jigging machine and tabling machine for it is too fine. Rod mill can grind tungsten concentrate evenly, so it will successfully be beneficiated in the next process.

Rod mill is named by the steel rod grinding body in the drum. Rod mill often uses wet spill style. The working principle is rotate drum by motor, grinding medium – steel rod is stored in drum. Under centrifugal force and friction of grinding medium, it is upward and throw down. Grinded tungsten ore is sent into drum, grinded by moved grinding medium, and eliminate out of drum to the next step.
