Tungsten Concentrate Gravity Separation – Centrifugal Separator

Centrifugal separator, also known as centrifugal chute, it is the use of mineral particle size and density differences in the high-intensity centrifugal force field, can achieve separation of useful minerals and gangue minerals.

There are many types of centrifugal separator, but their structures are similar. In recent years, many equipments such as Knelson concentrators, Falon concentrators and domestic produced SLon centrifugal separator appears succeeded, the mineral grain size is finer. Thus realize recovery of fine grain particle, widening application field of gravity separation in beneficiation.

Working process of centrifugal separator: mineral slurry rotates under high speed, with centrifugal force, heavy mineral precipitates on the inner wall of drum and rotate with it, light mineral will be eliminated out of equipment. After tailings going out, use high pressure water to eliminate concentrate on the inner wall.

Practice shows that centrifugal separator can lower recovery limit of fine grade material, intense separation of fine grade, it is significant for tungsten concentrate gravity separation and tungsten slime recovery. Based on current technique, centrifugal separator has many difficult problems. For example, when encounter fine mineral with big surface energy, different phase grain will accumulate and hard to separate. Besides that, useful minerals with high density and small grain is hard to separate with gauge mineral with low density and big grain. So centrifugal separator can only play the assistant role in beneficiation process.

Centrifugal separator is a valuable equipment. It depends on how we use it. To deal with these shortcomings, people get idea with combination of magnetic separation and centrifugal separation. It makes up the disadvantages of both methods.
