The difference between a wound paper (or cork), bristle dartboard is retrieved from the board, the bristle will close the hole made by the dart. The other boards just leave the hole. This leads to faster wear and tear.

The knowledge of the properties of ammonium paratungstete is desiable for controlling its crystallization and its thermal decomposition .However ,the study on the thermodynamic properties has not been reported . in the present work ,the enthalpy of reaction for the thermal decomposition of ammonium pararungstate was measured , and its standard enthalpy of formation at 298.15K is obtained .

Before the First World War, pubs in the United Kingdom had dartboards made from solid blocks of wood, usually elm.[citation needed] They had to be soaked overnight to heal the holes made by the darts, and it was a messy business for the publican, although darts was a popular game. This changed when a company called Nodor, whose primary business was making modelling clay (which has no odour, hence the name Nodor), started producing clay dartboards in 1923.

You never see these around, but they are a lot of fun to throw with. They are made of lightweight wood shaft with turkey feather flights (no parts to replace). I have four sets and I ordered from Al's American Darts for using with their wooden dartboard. They weigh around 12 grams so they really aren't that much lighter than electronic darts. They work just fine with any bristle board.

A regulation board is 17 3⁄4 inches (451 mm)in diameter and is divided into 20 radial sections. Each section is separated with metal wire or a thin band of sheet metal. The best dartboards have the thinnest wire, so that the darts have less chance of hitting a wire and bouncing out.

Plastic dartboard, also known as soft dartboard. The material is hard plastic. Designed with a plurality of apertures onto the target with the darts, plastic tip darts are used. This is high security darts, but darts have worse feeling. It is lack of realism and easy to play darts off.

Microwave decomposition of solid crystalline ammonium paratungstate (APT) and ammonium metatungstate (AMT) was investigated. It was observed that APT and AMT interact with 2.45-GHz microwave radiation. Samples of ammonium paratungstate (20-50 g) were successfully converted into WO3-x (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2). A wide variety of morphological parameters were found. The interaction of AMT with the 2.45-GHz microwave radiation resulted in the partial loss of crystalline water and the partial dissolution of the sample in the released water.

The TG curve of APT weightessness and the change of temperature and reaction time under the condition of a constant heating rate were obtained by thermo gravmetric analysis .According to the weight loss rate of APT, the DTG curve was drawn based on the TG and curves . Ammonium paratungstate was prepared from tungsten alloy swarf employing anodic dissolution in sodium hydroxide using a packed bed configuration followed by chemical conversion into ammonium tungstate through tungstic acid. The alkaline tungstate solution was dialysed to recover sodium hydroxide, which could be recycled to the electrolytic dissolution. The influence of anodic current density and other parameters on dissolution/recovery was studied and discussed. It was observed that a current density of 600 mA/100 g scrap could be applied when the concentration of NaOH was maintained around 2.5 M. The energy consumption for anodic dissolution was 2.14 kWh/kg W with more than 90% recovery achieved. XRD studies indicated that the exhausted scrap contained an alloy of nickel and iron with a very low percentage of tungsten. APT sample prepared through anodic dissolution in NaOH was characterized.
