Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

The first round of price guidance from China’s Ganzhou Tungsten Association (GTA) and large tungsten enterprises in 2024 has been released, indicating a sideways trend in the tungsten market.

Due to the continued dynamics between supply and demand in the industry chain and cost factors, businesses' attitudes have stabilized for now at the beginning of the year, with a watchful stance for updates on enterprise stockpiling or shipping news.

According to information from Chinatungsten Online, the forecasted average prices for domestic tungsten in January 2024, as disclosed by Ganzhou Tungsten Association, are as follows: 55% black tungsten concentrate at $17,142.9/ton, a $142.9/ton increase compared to December 2023; ammonium paratungstate (APT) at $291.4/mtu, unchanged from December 2023; and medium-grain tungsten powder at $39.4/kg unchanged from December 2023.

Zhangyuan Tungsten's long-term contract prices for the first half of January 2024 (with 13% VAT) are: black tungsten concentrate (WO3 ≥55%) at $17,142.9/ton, a $0.8/ton decrease compared to the second half of December 2023; white tungsten concentrate (WO3 ≥ 55%) at $16,928.6/ton, a $0.8/ton decrease compared to the second half of December 2023; and ammonium paratungstate (APT, national standard zero grade) at $291.4/mtu, unchanged from the second half of December 2023.

Jiangxi Tungsten Group's national standard first-grade black tungsten concentrate price for the first half of January 2024 is $17,428.6/ton, unchanged from the second half of December 2023.

Xiamen Tungsten's long-term procurement price for ammonium paratungstate (APT) in the first half of January 2024 is $291.4/mtu, unchanged from the second half of December 2023.
