Dysprosium Oxide Price - May 8, 2021

Rare earth market quotation in China: praseodymium oxide, neodymium oxide and dysprosium oxide prices continue to decline on May 8, 2021 due to heavy wait-and-see atmosphere and low trading activity in the market.

The light rare earth market has not performed well, and the prices of mainstream products have dropped significantly. From the beginning of April to the present, the price of neodymium oxide has dropped by approximately RMB 96,000/ton, the price of neodymium praseodymium oxide has dropped by approximately RMB 48,000/ton, and the price of neodymium praseodymium metal has dropped by approximately 46,000 yuan/ton.

In the medium and heavy rare earth market, the supply and demand are generally weak. Due to the greater impact of the central environmental supervision, some rare earth smelting companies in the south have been forced to reduce production. Coupled with limited overseas imports, the current supply of rare earth raw materials is not very tolerant, but downstream magnetic materials companies replenish goods with what they actual needs, causing the current raw material prices to drop slightly.

According to customs export data in April, 3737.2 tons of rare earth commodities were exported, with an export value of 350 million yuan; compared with the previous month, the export volume of rare earths decreased by 22.7%, and the export value decreased by 7.9%. In 2021, a total of 1,5642.3 tons of rare earths were exported, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%; the cumulative export value was 1.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.3%.
