China’s Zhangyuan Tungsten Raised its Offers for August

Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

China tungsten price was in the upward trend in the week ended on Friday August 7, 2020 but market trading seems quiet. With the increase in new average tungsten forecast prices from listed companies and associations, the market was boosted.

China’s Zhangyuan Tungsten released its new offers for the first half of August: black tungsten concentrate (WO3≥55%) quoted at $11,911.8 per ton, up $220.6 per ton compared with the second half of July; scheelite concentrate (WO3≥55%) was quoted at $11,691.2 per ton, up $220.6 per ton; ammonium paratungstate (APT) was quoted at $208.5 per mtu, up $3.3 per mtu from last time.

In the APT market, affected by strong rised mentality of the raw material side and tight supply of spot resources, manufacturers raised offers to avoid risk of price inversion, but actual transactions seem not increased. As the current macroeconomic and trade environment is relatively complex, facing risks such as the epidemic and geopolitics, the market is cautious and downstream remains weak.
