First Lithium Battery Hybrid Marine Official Ship of China Launched

The first lithium battery hybrid marine official ship of China has been launched at the end of April. Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. launched the Shenzhen Dangerous Goods Emergency Command Ship "Deep Sea 01" at the Changzhou Plant, the relevant personals and guests attended the ceremony.

The ship is the Chinese first electric battery hybrid sea vessel and the first marine official vessel that uses lithium batteries as hybrid propulsion power in China. The ship adopts double-deck propulsion, which can be propelled by pure battery. It could safely navigate in the sea dangerous gas area and implement personnel evacuation and rescue.

"Deep Sea 01" powered by lithium battery was designed by the 708th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Corporation. It is understood that this is the first time in the world that a cabin micro-positive pressure maintenance system is used to implement navigation operations in the offshore LNG diffusion area. The gap in the industry has been greatly promoted, and effectively promoted the application of power battery technology in Chinese offshore ships.

The hybrid marine official ship "Deep Sea 01" has a total length of about 78 meters, a model width of 12.8 meters, a model depth of 5.5 meters, a design draft of 3.4 meters, and a full-load displacement of about 1,450 tons. The ship uses "diesel-electric" hybrid electric propulsion with 3 diesel generator sets (3X2080 kW) plus 2 sets of lithium iron phosphate power batteries (2X750 kWh), dual full-rotation pod thrusters, with DP 1 power positioning function. The ship has a capacity of 60 people, a design speed of not less than 18 knots, a wind resistance class of 12, and an endurance of 1,000 nautical miles.

The noise level of the whole ship during berthing is controlled according to the highest level of ship noise of the China Classification Society. There is a helicopter platform to meet the current domestic main sea rescue helicopter take-off and landing. Equipped with advanced equipment such as liquefied natural gas detection system, ship air pollutant emission detection system, sea surface oil spill monitoring radar, X-band explosion-proof radar and underwater robot (ROV), etc.

The first lithium battery hybrid marine official ship of China – "Deep Sea 01" is a professional dangerous goods emergency command ship that can be used for monitoring, accident emergency, and personnel rescue in the offshore leakage and diffusion area of dangerous gases such as liquefied natural gas. After the ship is put into use, it will be responsible for safety supervision, oil spill monitoring, atmospheric monitoring, and accident emergency in Shenzhen waters. According to the construction progress, the ship will be officially put into service this year.
