Cs0.33WO3 Applied for Coating Glass

Cs0.33WO3, or cesium tungsten bronze, is mainly applied for preparing coating glass. As such a coating glass is more and more popular, the functional material Cs0.33WO3 is also attracting much attention. According to the experts, cesium tungsten bronze is hot pressed to form a sintered pellet. And the extremely hard surface of the pellet is polished and measured with a spectroscopic ellipsometer to determine the dielectric function. The image of dielectric function of Cs0.33WO3 is shown as follows.

And the measured functions,ε1 and ε2, are shown in the image.ε2 indicates that not only a peak originated from the interband transition at 4.3 eV, but also another peak at 1.6 eV. The latter peak corresponds to the optical absorption subpeak near 900nm and is believed to originate from a small polaron. While the main absorption peak of cesium tungsten bronze dispersions between 900 and 2000 nm (0.6-1.38 eV) is not observed in ε2. According to the experts, the cesium tungsten bronze is a high conductor with plenty of conduction electrons, and it is suggested that this absorption is also derived from the activity of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR).
