Nano Cs0.33WO3, or nano cesium tungsten bronze, is well-known as a near-infrared absorber because it has excellent near-infrared absorption property. It is reported that solar control performance of Cs0.33WO3 coating or film is the highest since Cs0.33WO3 nano particles absorb well around 800-1400 nm where solar intensity is high.

Cesium tungsten bronze is usually applied for preparing solar control films and on-site coatings for existing windows, owing to its unique properties, high stability and reasonable cost. Fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) and antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) have a similar absorption as Cs0.33WO3 nano powder. But, the heat shielding performance of FTO and ATO is not as well as Cs0.33WO3. Cesium tungsten bronze is the most reputed near-infrared absorbing material. And near-infrared absorption of its nanoparticle dispersion has been abundantly reported. The cost of Cs0.33WO3 dispersed film is reasonable because of a little amount of usage due to the relatively high absorption coefficient.
