Spiral chute beneficiation utilizes the water current flow from slope into chute, under vertical movement to separate ore and grit. It utilizes different proportion and density to separate mine and gangue mineral. In recent years, it has gradually taken place of tabling beneficiation.
For years, tabling has been widely applied in tungsten concentrate beneficiation, it is mainly for abandoning tailings and obtaining concentrate. However, it takes a lot of space, maintenance charge, hydropower consuming. In recent years, spiral chute beneficiation has become widely used to improve process. It is proved that it can promote efficiency.
Principle of spiral chute beneficiation is vertical spiral downward layered. In chute, mineral grain of different density will layered under movement of current, gravity of mineral grain, centrifugal force and friction force. In the end, heavy mineral with small density will move to the inside of chute under spiral, and move to the bottom of chute slowly. Tailings with high density will be threw to the outside and emit under function of water current.
The spiral chute is the same as the shaker for 37 microns, so the use of a spiral chute can discard a large number of low grade tailings at one time and, more importantly, it can save a lot of time. In recent years, many tungsten mines use spiral chute to replace tabling, such as a tungsten mine in Fujian, selected process using spiral chute combining tabling, firstly, use spiral chute for selection, to achieve classification and tailing abandon, and then shake bed for the second selection, get direct access to high-quality tungsten concentrate, so as to save a lot of cost and time.
