Tungsten Mine Exploration

Tungsten mine refers to tungsten mine deposit accumulated under geological process. China's exploration of the formal system of tungsten deposits began mainly after the founding of the People's Republic of China. 

Through the continuous practice, the Chinese geologists developed from the earliest "large veins" to the modern system of ore prospecting and evaluation methods. "Five-storeyed" model is the most outstanding theory, it created a world guide tungsten ore precedent, has been highly praised by the international counterparts.

The "five-storeyed" model comes from the summary of the 909 team of geologists in 1965 to explore the tungsten ore in the pond, that is, the ore-body form of the quartz vein type tungsten deposit ("tungsten-tungsten deposit") has a "five-story" regular, from top to bottom there are five layers: ① quartz cloud veins (also known as veins), ② sparse fine veins, ③ dense vein, ④ parallel pulse group, ⑤ alone large pulse, group, pulse for the basic model of deep exploration, looking for hidden industrial ore body. In the south of Jiangxi, south of Hunan and other places of the veins of tungsten ore deposits mostly exist in such vertical zoning, the use of "five-story" model is very practical, geologist thus broaden the horizon, set a record with fruitful outcomes.

In 2013, the geological staff used the five-storey model in the northeastern part of Jiangxi Province, Wuning County, Taihu Tong found large-scale tungsten ore, proved reserves of 1.06 million tons, estimated economic value of more than 150 billion yuan. The record was refreshed soon. In 2016, geologists found the larger tungsten ore near Dahutang, has proven reserves of 3.44 million tons, once again refreshes the tungsten ore reserves of the world record.
