Tungsten Beneficiation Process

Tungsten is rare element which only accounts for 1.3╳10-6 in the geological belt. Over 20 kinds of tungsten mine are discovered, tungsten concentrate and tungsten scheelite are the most widely spread and has economic value, as well as mixed tungsten ore. 

At present, China has tungsten reserve of 55% which ranks the first in the world, among which tungsten scheelite accounts for two thirds of the total reserve. However, tungsten scheelite has less quantity in rich ore and has low grade. If explored by exist process, there will be very little economic efficiency. Tungsten concentrate has small reserve, rich ore is easy to prospect and filtrate. As a result, tungsten concentrate exploration takes up 90% of the total amount.

The main beneficiation process of tungsten concentrate is gravity separation process, recycle rate is 92~93%, its flow chart is primary concentration, eliminating waste by hand, multi grade jigging, multi grade tabling, grinding in different process, tabling to eliminate tailings, recycle putty, picking the good one in later processes, recycle of ore. This processes need to be beneficiated firstly by human or machine, then re-beneficiated by machine under jigging, finally processing concentration. Tungsten scheelite is the main prospecting ore at abroad, so they have advanced beneficiation process. With the exhausting of tungsten concentrate, tungsten scheelite is gradually replacing tungsten concentrate. China is also making progress in tungsten scheelite beneficiation technology.

Mixed tungsten ore has high application value, such as tungsten-molybdenum-bismuth mixed deposit in Shizhu Yuan. After a long period of exploration and research, Shizhuyuan Method comes into being. It is processed on the basis of unit beneficiation process, use chelating collector beneficiation as its key process in beneficiation of molybdenum-bismuth, bismuth-sulfide, mixed concentrate and scheelite, coarse tungsten concentrate selecting, tungsten putty beneficiation. It has advantages of less occupying in land, energy efficiency and high efficacy. It will gradually replace traditional beneficiation process.
