Preparation of Ammonium Paratungstate by Ion Exchange Method

Use sodium tungstate solution containing 0.01-0.50 mol/L sodium hydroxide and less than 50 g/L tungsten trioxide as the feed liquid to absorb tungsten through porous strong basic anion exchange resin, and use desorbent (the mixed solution of 1.5-6 mol/L ammonium chloride and 0.5-10 mol/L ammonium hydroxide) to elute tungsten, evaporate and concentrate the desorption liquid to crystallize ammonium paratungstate. After solid-liquid separation, the crystallized mother liquor (crystallization is separated with pH 0.1-5) is used to adsorb tungsten through the acrylic weakly basic anion exchange resin, then use desorption agent (0.5-6.0 mol/L sodium hydroxide solution) to elute tungsten from the acrylic weakly basic anion exchange resin, and then return the eluent as the feed liquid.

The method can eliminate the occurrence of APT crystallization in the ion exchange process. It is convenient to operate. It simplifies the equipment and reduces labor intensity. The prepared APT has good crystallization performance at lower cost. And the mother liquor after crystallization can be treated very well.
