Rare Earth Doped Ultrafine Tungsten Wire Preparation Process

Adding a certain amount of rare earth elements into tungsten can change the performance of tungsten wire, such as adding cerium or thorium into tungsten can improve the electron emission and ablative ability, and improve the processability of tungsten at the same time. The tungsten alloy wires and products produced by these properties are mainly used in electronic tube hot wire, argon arc welding electrode, pulse tube heating wire and so on.

Some scholars have proposed an improved method for the processing of rare earth doped ultrafine tungsten wire. The brief process is as follows:

1.The ammonium paratungstate melted into blue tungsten oxide, and then doping K2SiO3 solution and Al(NO3)3 liquid, mixed; potassium content should be controlled at 50-80 PPm.

2.The first reduction was carried out between the above materials at 600 ℃- 650 ℃ and second reduction between 800 ℃ and - 850 ℃.

3.The raw material after the reduction is washed for 30 hours. (the deionized water washing makes the pH = 7 vacuum drying at 80 -120 ℃).

4.Adding cerium nitrate solution in the raw material after pickling was sifted after burning at 300 ℃- 500 ℃. The first reduction was carried out between 750 ℃ - 800 ℃ and second times between 900 ℃ and -950 ℃.

5.Sieving and mixing;

6.After the blanking is pressed, the low temperature preheating (1100 ℃) is carried out.

7.Two vertical melting sintering; the first vertical melting sintering temperature to 1500-1600 ℃, insulation 12-15 minutes, the fuse current of 80-90%, the second vertical melting sintering temperature to 1700-1900 ℃, holding 12-15 minutes, the fuse current 80-90%, so that the density of tungsten bars to ensure that 17.4 ~ 17.9g / cm3;

8.Followed by swaging billet, crystal annealing, swaging, recrystallization annealing, swaging, drawing, stress relief annealing, fine processing.

The tungsten-cerium alloy wire produced by the above method has good plasticity and can be processed to a diameter of less than or equal to 0.30mm, and can be processed according to different purposes, and its performance fully meets the international standards.
