Dartboard Maintenance

1. Every two weeks, remove the metal number ring from your dartboard.

2. Move the "20" through to the next blank segment. The "20" now becomes the "12," and so on.

3. Repeat the procedure more often or less often as use and wear dictate.

Tips & Warnings

We recommend that you spread the board's wear when practicing. Because the only board area that you cannot protect by turning is the bull's-eye, it is crucial that you don't continually practice on that spot or it will wear out. Keep your tungsten darts sharp. Ensure points are kept sharp and not blunt or hooked. A hooked tungsten dart will damage a bristle board quickly as it will pull the fiber out, and blunt (worn) dart points cause over-compaction--check your tungsten dart points and sharpen or replace as required or they will prematurely wear out your board."

Traditional dart boards made of cork are often cheaper and have a more classic aesthetic appeal to them. However, they do succumb to regular use's wear and tear. While minor issues like extremely dry cork can be fixed easily, if your board has a substantial amount of cork chunks taken out of it or mold damage, you may want to consider replacing it. Here are the answers about how to fix a cork dartboard:

1. Wipe down your dartboard gently with a damp cloth to get rid of any dust or dirt that has accumulated on the board over time.

2. Lay the dartboard down on a secure surface such as a workbench or basement table.

3. Place the damp cloth on top of the dartboard and leave it there overnight. Remove the cloth in the morning, and the cork should have naturally absorbed some of the moisture, returning it to playing form.

Tips & Warnings

Don't allow any excess water to get into the board when you are wiping it off with the damp cloth. Direct exposure to water can cause bubbles and other imperfections to rise in your board that can affect game play.

Of all metals in pure form, tungsten owns the highest melting point that is 3,422 °C, lowest vapor pressure which is above 1,650 °C and the highest tensile strength. What is more, tungsten possesses the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion in pure metals. The low thermal expansion and high melting point and strength of tungsten originate from strong covalent bonds formed between tungsten atoms by the 5d electrons. It will increase its toughness greatly if it alloying small quantities of tungsten with steel. Therefore, the tungsten needle, as pure tungsten material, owns the same physical properties of tungsten.

As to the chemical property of tungsten needle, which can also be analyzed from the material of tungsten, that is corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, oxidization resistance, and high temperature resistance. That has been the reason for tungsten needle can be stored with unchangeable quality for long.

In the water quench experiment, the pottery material nozzle cracks at the end face firstly, and then extend axially until depth throughout the nozzle. So the main failure mode is integral cracking. YG8 tungsten carbide nozzle performed well in thermal shock, which has tiny cracks at 500℃ difference in temperature, spall with lumps over 700℃ difference in temperature and when the difference in temperature reaches 900℃, the radial pattern cracks will appear. Therefore, tungsten carbide main failure mode in water quench experiment is massive spalling and concentrated in the end face of pore edge and the external cylindrical edge.

Through the simulation showed that the more thermal shock temperature difference, the greater the thermal stress. At the same difference in temperature, the thermal stress of YG8 tungsten carbide is lower than AL₂O₃ pottery nozzle, and then decreased with time goes by. The experimental data shows that YG8 tungsten carbide nozzle is better than AL₂O₃ pottery nozzle in heat resistance and anti-seismic.

Slider tungsten dart rule is a very easy game, but good practice because it uses the whole board. It is also a very fast moving game and can usually be finished in under 10 minutes. Any number of players can play. Handicapping can be done by limiting the target area of stronger players.

The Object: To hit every number on the board in order from 10 through 20 with one tungsten dart and finish before the other players.

The Scoring: Scoring is not needed in this game as long as everyone can remember what number they are up to and what order they shoot.

The Play: The first player tries to shoot first at 10, when a 10 is hit, play moves on to 11 and so on until all three tungsten darts are thrown. The next player then does the same thing, and so on. Remember only the number that the player is shooting for counts and all the numbers must be shot in order.

If the player misses the target number with all three tungsten darts, the player "slides" back a number for the next turn. For example, if the player is throwing at 15 and misses with all three tungsten darts, the next time that player throws, the target number will be 14.
The first player to hit the 20 wins.

Sudden Death tungsten dart rule is a very fast moving game for a large number of players. Playing with less than six player’s means the game will be over in two or three minutes.

The Object: To be the last person not eliminated.

The Scoring: No scoring are needed, all you have to do is remember playing order and what the lowest score thrown in each round is.

The Play: Each player (there are no teams in this game) throws one tungsten dart at bulls-eye, closest to the bulls-eye goes first.

Each player takes a turn trying to throw the highest possible score with three tungsten darts. Each tungsten dart scores the number where it landed with the thin outer "doubles" ring counting as two times the number hit and the thin inner "triples" ring counting as three times. The outer bulls-eye counts as 25 and the inner as 50 points.

After each player has thrown, whoever threw the lowest score that round is eliminated from the game and the next round is thrown with the remaining players. Whoever is left in the game at the end wins.

Strategy: Play your strongest numbers! A triple 16 (if that's your number) is a lot better score that floundering around the 20 and hitting 5's and 1's.

Battle Ship tungsten dart rule is a little complicated but a lot of fun game. It may be played with two players or teams. A pad and pen/pencil is required in addition to the scoreboard.

The Object: To sink all your opponent's ships before yours are sunk.

The Scoring: Players throw one tungsten dart each at bulls-eye, closest to the bulls-eye goes first.
The scoreboard is divided into two columns with a vertical line down the middle. Player’s names are written in order across the top of the board.

Four "ships" are drawn in each player’s column with one number in each: 2, 3, 4, 5. Each number represents how many positions on the board the ship occupies and also indicates the number of hits required to sink it.

The Play: Before the play begins, players must "hide" their ships by placing them on the board. Players write on a slip of paper the placement of each ship and do not disclose their placements to the opponents.

All five ships must be placed on the board and may not cross each other or be placed on top of each other. All ships must be places in sequential segments of the board and may not ever be broken up.

Ships may be oriented either "circularly" or "radially".(径向) To place a ship in a circular manner means that it's segments span numbers in the same ring of the board. The rings are the thin outer "double" ring, the large single wedge, the thin inner triple ring and the small single wedge. Bulls-eyes may not be used in circular placement. An example of circular placement would be to have your 3-segment ship across triple-20, triple-1 and triple-18 or small-11, small-8 and small 16.

Radial placement of a ship means placing the ship along the segments of one number like a spoke in a bicycle wheel. The bulls-eye may be used in radial placement along with any number. But remember that two or more ships may not share the same the same segment, so the bulls-eye may only be used for one ship. The bulls-eye is also counted as a single segments, no differentiation is made between the inner and outer bulls-eyes. An example of radial placement would be to have your 3-segment ship across triple-19, small-19 and bull another would be triple-6, large-6 and double-6.

Once both player ships have been hidden and written down on their slip of paper, play begins. Players take turns trying to locate and sink the other player's ships. This is done by randomly hitting segments of the board until a hit is scored. Each time a player throws a tungsten dart, the opponent must say "hit" or "miss" to indicate if the tungsten dart struck a section of any ship. No information is given as to which ship or how it is oriented should be given.

Once the initial hit is made, you must test all the segments surrounding the hit to try and determine the orientation of the ship and hit all of them. When all the segments of a ship have been hit, the player whose ship it is must announce "sunk" and cross out the ship which was sunk on their side of the scoreboard.

When you have sunk all your opponent’s ships, you have won the game.

Strategy: All your favorite strategies from the classic board game apply. If you have never played the board game, you have definitely wasted your childhood.

Different distance of tungsten carbide nozzle has different effects. The temperature of entrance changed because of the larger distance under high-powered operating, which increased the distribution coefficient of the entrance. While the performance of combustion engine is decreasing, it may be caused by the shorter distance, a great amount of nozzles or intensive distribution. Theoretically, each nozzle gets less oil supply and reduces the difference of oil pressure when the size and total oil supply is the same, which reduces the efficiency and the stability.
