Rare Earth Market - June 3, 2025

Rare earth market update on June 3, 2025

The domestic rare earth prices are showing a tentative upward trend, with neodymium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium metal, and terbium oxide prices rising by approximately 6,000 yuan/ton, 4,000 yuan/ton, and 30 yuan/kg, respectively.

Driven by the increase in praseodymium-neodymium raw material prices, the price of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) blanks has also risen, with the price of 55N NdFeB blank blocks increasing by about 2 yuan/kg. This price increase is mainly attributed to active downstream inquiries, strong support from production costs, and high expectations from industry players for the future market. However, there is still significant room for growth in market transaction volumes.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for May was 49.5%, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous month, indicating an improvement in manufacturing sector sentiment. Among the sub-indices, the production index was 50.7%, up 0.9 percentage points from the previous month; the new orders index was 49.8%, up 0.6 percentage points; and the raw material inventory index was 47.4%, up 0.4 percentage points from the previous month.
