China’s Tungsten Product Exports in February 2025

According to data compiled by China Tungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in February 2025, China’s exports of tungsten products (excluding carbide cutting tools and tungsten halogen lamps, hereinafter the same) totaled 640.94 tons. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 44.23% compared to February 2024 and a month-on-month decrease of 65.43% compared to January 2025. The export value amounted to RMB 194 million, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 33.72% and a month-on-month decrease of 65.12%.

Of this total, in February 2025, China exported 19.20 tons of tungstic acid, remaining flat month-on-month. Tungsten trioxide exports amounted to 40.00 tons, showing a year-on-year decrease of 67.05% and a month-on-month decrease of 86.23%. Exports of other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, not elsewhere specified, reached 17.77 tons, down 92.60% year-on-year and 87.31% month-on-month. Tungsten hexafluoride exports were 28.65 tons, up 105.24% year-on-year and down 62.37% month-on-month. Ammonium paratungstate exports totaled 20.00 tons, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 25.09% and a month-on-month decrease of 80.49%. Ammonium metatungstate exports amounted to 131.65 tons, down 21.15% year-on-year and 49.92% month-on-month. Tungsten carbide exports were 38.55 tons, decreasing 80.06% year-on-year and 84.76% month-on-month. Ferro-tungsten exports totaled 174.00 tons, down 24.18% year-on-year and up 18.19% month-on-month. Tungsten powder exports amounted to 73.50 tons, increasing 69.75% year-on-year and decreasing 58.65% month-on-month. Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering, reached 46.00 tons, up 42.64% year-on-year and down 67.58% month-on-month. Tungsten wire exports were 18.44 tons, down 5.81% year-on-year and 50.91% month-on-month. Tungsten waste and scrap exports totaled 4,500 kilograms, decreasing 73.53% year-on-year and 95.50% month-on-month. Exports of tungsten bars, rods, profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils amounted to 23.78 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 27.42% and a month-on-month decrease of 67.43%.

In addition, in February 2025, China exported 99.36 tons of coated or plated carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery, showing a year-on-year decrease of 17.24% and a month-on-month decrease of 23.94%. Exports of other carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery amounted to 127.24 tons, down 4.47% year-on-year and 38.61% month-on-month.
