China’s Tungsten Product Exports in January 2025

According to data compiled by China Tungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in January 2025, China’s exports of tungsten products (excluding carbide cutting tools and tungsten halogen lamps, hereinafter the same) totaled 1,854.29 tons. This represents a year-on-year increase of 20.22% compared to January 2024 and a month-on-month decrease of 10.03% compared to December 2024. The export value amounted to RMB 555 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 29.31% and a month-on-month decrease of 8.48%.
Of this total, in January 2025, China exported 19.20 tons of tungstic acid, remaining flat month-on-month. Tungsten trioxide exports amounted to 290.48 tons, showing a year-on-year increase of 59.55% and a month-on-month decrease of 9.51%. Exports of other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, not elsewhere specified, reached 140 tons, surging 599.65% year-on-year and increasing 17.89% month-on-month. Tungsten hexafluoride exports were 76.14 tons, up 130.40% year-on-year and 87.94% month-on-month. Ammonium paratungstate exports totaled 102.50 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 100.98% and a month-on-month decrease of 27.30%. Ammonium metatungstate exports amounted to 262.89 tons, up 34.58% year-on-year and down 5.32% month-on-month. Tungsten carbide exports were 253.03 tons, decreasing 34.90% year-on-year and 27.26% month-on-month. Ferro-tungsten exports totaled 147.22 tons, down 55.92% year-on-year and 35.43% month-on-month. Tungsten powder exports amounted to 177.74 tons, increasing 63.95% year-on-year and 8.40% month-on-month. Unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering, reached 141.88 tons, surging 301.92% year-on-year and decreasing 45.72% month-on-month. Tungsten wire exports were 37.57 tons, up 17.64% year-on-year and 29.82% month-on-month. Tungsten waste and scrap exports totaled 100.00 tons, increasing 21.95% year-on-year and 257.14% month-on-month. Exports of tungsten bars, rods, profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils amounted to 73.03 tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 39.42% and a month-on-month increase of 20.99%.
In addition, in January 2025, China exported 130.64 tons of coated or plated carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery, showing a year-on-year decrease of 0.01% and a month-on-month increase of 4.55%. Exports of other carbide knives and cutting blades for metalworking machinery amounted to 207.24 tons, down 7.93% year-on-year and up 17.67% month-on-month.
