Cesium Tungsten Oxide Applied for Car Thermal Insulating Glass Coating

Cesium tungsten oxide is prepared into dispersion and then car thermal insulating glass coating for the purpose of temperature reduction, energy efficiency and environmental protection. And that is because such coating can shield most of the heat radiation (near-infrared rays) in the sunlight. As the dispersion stability of colloidal Cs0.33WO3 solution will affect the final properties of the coating, the experts studied the transmittance spectra of coatings prepared by dispersing Cs0.33WO3 particles in aqueous solution and ethanol solution, respectively.

It was found that the secondary particle size of Cs0.33WO3 particles dispersed in ethanol solution was 326.6 nm, which was larger than the original particle size. This is because that the oxide particles in the ethanol solution can influence each other by dipole effect and the dipole effect will induce asymmetric distribution of the particle surface charge. When the dipole moment, from particle themselves or be induced, is large enough to overcome kinetic energy and electrostatic repulsion between colloidal particles, agglomeration will be caused. Since the polarity of water molecules is stronger than ethanol molecules and can offset the effect caused by the particle surface charge dissymmetry, so the colloidal Cs0.33WO3 solution dispersed in aqueous solution has better dispersion stability and optical properties than that in ethanol solution.
