Tungsten Trioxide Applied for Car Thermal Insulation Glass

Tungsten trioxide may be applied for producing car thermal insulation glass. And it is WO3 electrochromic film composed of tungsten trioxide nanorods that may be used to manufacture such a heat insulation glass. So, do you know how to prepare WO3 nanorods? Experts introduced a preparation method of tungsten trioxide nanorods.

Preparation of Tungsten Oxide Nanorods by Solvothermal Method

0.7 g of tungsten hexacarbonyl and 1.33 g of trimethylamine oxide and 10 mL of oleylamine (OLa) were placed in a 100 mL three-necked flask. The air in flask has been vented. Prior to heating, high purity nitrogen is passed through. The three-necked flask was placed in a heating jacket and heated continuously, and reaction temperature was gradually increased to 270 °C in 25 min and held for 24 hours. The heating jacket was removed, and after cooling to room temperature, 20 mL of toluene was added to dissolve, and ethanol was added thereto, followed by centrifugation, and the product was washed out. The obtained colloidal tungsten oxide nanorods were dissolved in 10 mL of n-hexane. By changing the content of OLa from 10 mL to 9 mL, 8 mL, 7 mL and adding octadecene (ODE) to a total volume of 10 mL, WO3 nanorods of different sizes can be synthesized, and WO3 electrochromic thin films can be obtained by using these nanorods.
