Cesium Tungstate Powder Applied for Thermal Insulation Paper

Cesium tungstate powder may be applied for producing transparent thermal insulation paper, which has excellent near-infrared absorption property. With the wide application of this kind of heat-insulating “paper”, the application of cesium tungstate nanopowder is more extensive, and thus its preparation and production process are becoming more and more important. Therefore, experts are working hard to study the preparation of cesium tungstate nanopowder.

Some experts have suggested that after dissolving cesium carbonate in water, it is stirred and dried by adding tungstic acid. Thereafter, heat treatment was carried out at 800°C for 30 minutes in a mixed atmosphere of H2 and N2 (H2 accounting for 2 %), and further heat-treated at 800°C for 90 minutes in an N2 atmosphere to obtain cesium tungstate powder.

Experts said that although this method is simple in production and short in process, there are still many defects. For example, the raw material tungstic acid is insoluble in water, that is, the tungsten raw material and the cesium raw material fail to achieve molecular level mixing in the aqueous liquid solvent, and after drying to remove moisture, the tungstic acid always appears in a solid form. In the subsequent high-temperature atmosphere heat treatment process, long-term solid phase diffusion of tungsten and cesium ions is required to form a cesium tungstate crystal phase in a short time, and oxygen vacancies in the crystal lattice are also required to be obtained, so that the purity and crystallinity of cesium tungstate powder are not high, and the near-infrared absorption performance of the powder is not high. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct more in-depth research on the preparation method.
