Some experts have proposed that the raw materials of tungsten including ammonium tungstate, ammonium paratungstate, ammonium metatungstate and the raw materials of cesium including cesium nitrate, cesium hydroxide, and chelating agent EDTA or tartaric acid can be dissolved in ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, first reacted at 170°C for 3 hours. The reaction is further carried out in a 260°C high pressure reactor for 5-8 hours to obtain cesium tungstate nanopowder. Experts said that this method shortens the reaction time, and the concentration of the reactants is not very high. However, the production efficiency is low. And the reaction heat transfer performance is poor as the reaction uses a para-polyphenylbenzene reactor. Also, it greatly reduces the production efficiency and increases the production cost. Later, some experts proposed other preparation methods. They mixed the solid solution of tungstic acid and cesium carbonate and heat-treated at 600°C for 2 hours in a mixed atmosphere of Ar and H2 (volume ratio of 97:3). The heat treatment at 800°C for 1 hour in the atmosphere to obtain cesium tungstate powder.
