China’s Zhangyuan Tungsten Raised Long-term Contract Prices for the Second Half of August 2023

Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

At the beginning of the week, China tungsten price held steady, with the market trading atmosphere remaining cautious and primarily driven by on-demand transactions. 

There is some divergence in confidence between buyers and sellers, with holders showing a willingness to support prices, while smelters are hopeful for increases. Downstream consumption remains moderate, leading to limited trading volume in the market.

According to information from Chinatungsten Online, in the second half of August 2023, Zhangyuan Tungsten's long-term contract prices (including 13% value-added tax) are as follows: black tungsten concentrate (WO3≥55%) at approximately $17,071.4/ton, with an increase of $357.1/ton; scheelite concentrate at approximately $17,352.9/ton, with an increase of $357.1/ton; ammonium paratungstate (National Standard) at approximately $292.2/mtu, an increase of $5.6/mtu from the first half of the month.
