Gadolinium Oxide Price – May 6, 2023

China’s domestic rare earth market maintains a weak and stable operation on May 6, 2023. Under the interweaving of many positive and negative factors, the negotiation atmosphere between buyers and sellers is slightly stalemate.

Currently, the prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide, gadolinium oxide and 55N NdFeB rough block are about 437,000 yuan/ton, 260,000 yuan/ton and 225 yuan/kg respectively.

Favorable factors include increased support for production costs, a slowdown in the production speed of some suppliers, and good prospects for the development of rare earth downstream industries such as the new energy vehicle industry, wind power industry, and smart home appliance industry.

Negative factors include: in the case of weak downstream demand, the spot supply in the market is slightly loose, which makes it difficult for product prices to rise; in May, the listed prices of rare earths in the north fell sharply.

In terms of news: In May 2023, the listed prices of rare earths in the north showed that the price of lanthanum oxide was 9,800 yuan/ton, which was flat month-on-month, and a year-on-year decrease of 9.26%; tons, down 22.54% month-on-month, down 39.24% year-on-year; neodymium oxide 511,700 yuan/ton, down 27.50% month-on-month, down 42.58% year-on-year; metal praseodymium and neodymium 610,000 yuan/ton, down 22.04% month-on-month, down 38.57% year-on-year; Yuan/ton, a month-on-month decrease of 26.96% and a year-on-year decrease of 41.91%.
