Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

China tungsten price continued to trade sideways on April 13, 2023, mainly due to the lack of buying interest of downstream terminal. Th whole market is also quiet given the continued sluggish trading performance as well as the lack of support from the cost side, the risk in the macro environment, and the poor sentiment of market participants. 

The tungsten concentrate market has no obvious fluctuations for the time being, the offer is deadlocked at around $17,692.3/ton. The adjustment of mine start-up load and resource circulation is relatively flexible, so the holders are cautious in making profits, and the market is relatively resistant to falling, but it is still subject to the actual order volume of downstream terminals.

The APT market maintains range consolidation, and the mainstream focus is stalemate at around $302.5/mtu. From the perspective of cost, the acceptance of downstream bargaining prices is limited, and the market is still struggling to obtain goods. From the perspective of demand, downstream transaction volume is not actively coordinated, and it is more difficult for the price to be firm. 

The tungsten powder market is relatively weak and stalemate. Facing the pressure of the slack atmosphere at the alloy end, superimposed the squeeze of the regeneration market, the market trading is not ideal, and there are more negotiations on real orders. The overall wait-and-see mood is strong in the market.

In terms of news, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Natural Resources recently issued the first batch of tungsten concentrate (65% tungsten trioxide content, the same below) total mining control indicators for 2023, which is 63,000 tons, which is the same as the first batch of 2022 indicators. The total control index for tungsten concentrate mining in 2022 is 109,000 tons.
