China’s Tungsten Carbide Powder Price Stabilizes Due to Weak Demand

The ferro tungsten and tungsten carbide powder prices in the Chinese market continue to be weak on March 29, 2023 because the whole market is still caught in heavy wait-and-see atmosphere. 

The market's pessimistic expectations for global economic growth and optimistic expectations for China's economic recovery have led to different views on the market outlook. Now the market trading is quiet, and the whole market is expected to be quiet. 

Tungsten concentrate price stands at about $18,000.00/ton with limited low-price resources in the market; APT price is about $306.00/mtu and the demand is weak; tungsten powder price is $41.20/kg and the demand of the alloy end is sluggish. 

According to the data of the General Administration of Customs, from January to February 2023, China exported 244 tons of ammonium paratungstate to foreign countries, down about 48.6% from 475 tons last year.

The latest report from the World Bank stated that against the backdrop of slowing economic growth in major economies, the global potential economic growth rate will drop to the lowest level since 2000, and the average annual growth rate between 2023 and 2030 is expected to be 2.2%. The report pointed out that a series of factors including the epidemic, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and the risks of the financial industry in Europe and the United States are slowing down the growth of the global economy.
