China Rare Earth Price - December 16, 2022

This week, China rare earth price showed a pattern of first stabilizing and then rising. Under the influence of both weak supply and demand and the increasing number of positive factors, the price game among traders was fierce, that is, the confidence of suppliers in firm quotations was generally strong, and the sentiment of buyers to suppress prices continued. 

The price increase of rare earth is small and the growth rate of orders is slow. At present, the prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide, terbium oxide and dysprosium iron alloy have risen slightly to about 695,000 yuan/ton, 13,700 yuan/kg and 2,430,000 yuan/ton respectively.

From the perspective of the supply side, first, the epidemic situation in some regions is still relatively tense, environmental protection policies are becoming stricter, and the current rare earth market is not performing well, which are the main reasons for the production reduction of many rare earth manufacturers; When the price is low, the import volume of my country's rare earth market is relatively small.

From the perspective of demand, firstly, with the coming of Christmas, New Year’s Day and Spring Festival, the enthusiasm of downstream users to stock up has increased; secondly, under the situation of intensive adjustment and optimization of epidemic prevention and control measures and the continuous introduction of favorable policies in many places, Many production enterprises downstream of rare earths, such as automobile manufacturers, have accelerated their resumption of work and production, which is beneficial to the increase in the consumption of rare earth raw materials; third, after the Korean freight strike, the national logistics has shown a rapid recovery trend, which is conducive to my country's rare earth exports.
