China’s Xianglu Tungsten Announced Long-term Contract Prices for the Second Half of September

The overall China’s domestic tungsten price is weak mainly because the fundamentals are weak and external financial factors are bearish, which intensifies the market's anxiety.

China’s Xianglu Tungsten announced long-term contract prices for the second half of September: 55% black tungsten concentrate price was $17,615.4/ton, down $230230.8/ton; 55% scheelite concentrate price was $17,461.5/ton, down $230.8/ton; APT price was $306.3/mtu, down $3.1/mtu compared with the first half of this month. 

In the tungsten concentrate market, the stockholders cut product profits slightly for more sales, and high-grade product prices stagnated at around $17,846.2/ton. Recently, the pressure on the supply side of the market has attracted attention. First, the National Day holidays and conferences require the production and smelting of mines to be more environmentally friendly and safer; second, the main production areas of tungsten in Jiangxi, Hunan and other places have disturbed the release of some resources, and the supply side is expected to be tight. The overall demand has not recovered yet. 

In the APT market, the so called golden September is expected to end in a weak state. Due to the significant pressure on the market demand, especially overseas consumption due to the impact of the epidemic, geography, interest rate hikes and other factors, the demand both at home and abroad is weak. Market price hovers around $306.0/mtu. 

In the tungsten powder market, the overseas consumption environment is bearish. Although the domestic economy continues to recover, the overall expectation of the supply and demand side of the alloy end is weak during the year, the market consumer psychology is not good, and the market continues to be weak.
