APT Price in the Market Mainly Refers to the Long-term Contract Prices for Late May

Analysis of latest tungsten market from Chinatungsten Online

The ammonium paratungstate (APT) and tungsten powder prices in the Chinese market continue to stabilize with the effective control in domestic epidemic and the continuous recovery of demand in the manufacturing industries such as automobiles and equipment.

The price of tungsten concentrate is stagnant at around $17,230.8/ton with limited deals concluded in the market. The industry generally believes that due to factors such as environmental protection, rising prices, and scarcity of resources, although the recent demand pressure is obviously constrained, there are still more opportunities to keep firm prices of mineral products in the future. 

APT price stands at around $297.3/mtu, referring to the long-term contract prices of several tungsten companies. The spot trading in the market is not positive. Most participants will wait and see the cost-side pressure and the recovery of the demand side.

Tungsten powder price hovers around $40.9 when the consumption of the downstream alloy end is generally recovering. Market demand is low and participants remain weak purchasing activity. 

On the macro level, the State Council executive meeting held a few days ago further deployed a package of measures to stabilize the economy, striving to push the economy back to a normal track and ensure that it operates within a reasonable range. The meeting decided to implement 33 measures in 6 areas, mainly including fiscal and related policies, financial policies, stabilizing industrial and supply chains, promoting consumption and effective investment, ensuring energy security, and ensuring basic people's livelihoods. This package of measures focuses on stabilizing supply, expanding demand, and stabilizing expectations, which will help the recovery of tungsten product market consumption, ease the plight of tungsten enterprises, and promote the sustainable development of the tungsten industry.
