China Rare Earth Price - March 11, 2021

China rare earth price declines slightly in the middle of March, 2021 after a steadily rise in February. Both buyers and sellers are not active in trading and high-price transactions are limited due to reasons as follows: 

First, due to the influence of raw material shortage in the early stage, the prices of many products have risen sharply, which has led to reduced orders; second, the first batch of rare earth control indicators for this year have been increased significantly, which will delay downstream users’ procurement time to a certain extent; third, as the advantages of new energy vehicles, new and old infrastructure, 5G mobile phones, smart appliances and other industries are gradually exhausted, the sentiment of the supply and demand parties in the market will also decrease, so in order to obtain more orders, suppliers’ quotations have been rationally adjusted downwards.

In the news: Northern Rare Earth announced that the listed prices of rare earth products in March will rise sharply. Specifically, the price of praseodymium and neodymium is increased by about 31-32%, and the price of neodymium is increased by about 25-26%, while the price of lanthanum and cerium remains stable.
