Rare Earth Makes Low-Temperature Denitrification Catalysis Possible

Rare earth realizes low-temperature denitrification catalysis. Inner Mongolia Seagate Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. undertook the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's major science and technology project of ‘Industrial production and application of rare earth-based medium and low temperature flue gas denitration catalysts’ to make low-temperature denitrification catalysis possible.
Rare earth based medium and low temperature SCR denitrification catalyst modified powder production process and related technical parameter package. The prepared medium and low temperature rare earth-based denitrification catalyst powder has a denitration rate of more than 80% at 240-400℃ and has good sulfur resistance.
According to Tang Zhicheng, a researcher from the project team and a Ph.D. from the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, "Laboratory test results show that the catalyst powder has good active component dispersion performance, excellent medium and low temperature denitration performance, etc., with good stability as well as water and sulfur resistance, this technology is the first in the country in the rare earth-based medium and low temperature SCR denitration catalyst."
The process conditions such as the type of industrial raw materials and pH value were studied in detail, and a sample of the monolithic honeycomb rare earth denitration catalyst was prepared. After the prepared catalyst powder was subjected to a small test and amplification, the honeycomb type denitrification catalyst was prepared by adding a molding aid. The result shows that, in the 240-360℃ working temperature range, the catalytic efficiency is greater than 85%, and it holds good water and sulfur resistance at 280℃.
The technology has recently completed a ton-scale pilot scale-up production in a cooperative enterprise. During the production process, the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Technology, Seagate Environmental Protection, and cooperative enterprises worked together to complete the production of 6 batches of 12 tons of modified powder.
In the later stage, the project will carry out the pilot scale-up of a monolithic rare-earth-based medium and low temperature denitrification catalyst, conduct a hundred-kilogram slurry test, and scale-up production for the preparation of key intermediate products such as catalyst slurry and mud, and determine the process of preparing the honeycomb denitrification catalyst.
According to the parameters, a honeycomb rare earth-based medium and low temperature denitration catalyst with a complete shape and structure. The trial production was carried out on the honeycomb denitration catalyst production line to realize the continuous production of the honeycomb rare earth low temperature denitrification catalysis.
