Rare earth market quotation in China: cerium oxide, europium oxide and lanthanum oxide prices keep stable on January 28, 2021 on deadlocked supply and demand in the market.
Under the influence of factors such as the strengthening of expectations for global economic recovery this year, the boom in emerging markets, and the introduction of most rare earth-related policies, many holders still have a strong psychology of reluctance to sell and raise price, but downstream users’ fear of high sentiment is high. Affected by tight liquidity, some suppliers consider profit-taking.
In 2020, China's imports of rare earth oxides, carbonates and rare earth metal compounds have increased by 15% year-on-year to 40,732 tons. Among them, imports from Myanmar increased by 23% to 35,539 tons; rare earth oxides were 17,512 tons, an increase of 21% year-on-year; imports of rare earth metal compounds increased by more than 8 times year-on-year to 118.01 tons. In addition, 6,225 tons of rare earth carbonate ore, which is 52% lower than the 13,079 tons in 2019.
