The reporter learned from the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Department that the R&D team of Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Zone Enterprise Seagate Environmental Protection has made a breakthrough in the autonomous region’s major science and technology project "Industrial production and application of rare earth-based low-temperature flue gas denitration catalysts". The research and development of the low temperature SCR denitration catalyst powder laboratory have been completed, and the technology has the preliminary conditions for pilot scale up and industrialization.
Tang Zhicheng, a researcher from the project team and a Ph.D. from the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, told reporters: “The laboratory test results show that the catalyst powder has good active component dispersion performance, excellent medium and low temperature denitration performance, etc., with good stability and water resistance. This technology is the first in domestic in the rare earth-based medium and low temperature SCR denitration catalyst."
According to reports, the rare earth denitrification catalyst has a relatively high reaction temperature (greater than 350°C), and is mainly used for medium and high temperature flue gas denitration (working temperature 350-420°C). With the progress of ultra-low emission work in the steel, cement and glass industries across the country. This technology is of great significance for expanding the application range of rare earth medium and low temperature denitration catalysts.
With the continuous improvement of the installed capacity and equipment level of my country's power generation equipment, the market demand for honeycomb porous denitrification catalysts suitable for this working condition has seen a blowout growth in view of the large flue gas volume and low dust content of waste heat boilers.
"However, the core technology of the honeycomb porous denitrification catalyst has long been mastered by a small number of companies in Europe and the United States, and domestic companies have to pay high technical use fees every year." said Zhou Guanghe, chief engineer of Seagate Environmental Protection.
At present, on the basis of the production technology of high-efficiency vanadium-free rare earth flue gas denitration catalysts with independent intellectual property rights in my country, Seagate Environmental Protection has carried out the research and development of honeycomb porous (60-hole) rare earth-based denitration catalysts according to the market demand of waste heat boilers. The honeycomb porous (60-hole) rare earth denitrification catalyst has been mass-produced, filling the technical gap of this type of catalyst in China and breaking the situation of relying mainly on imports.
