Rare earth market quotation in China: europium oxide, neodymium oxide and cerium oxide prices continue to keep stable on September 16, 2020. Due to the interweaving of positive and negative factors in various aspects, buyers and sellers have slowed down in entering the market and reasonably controlled the growth rate of inventories. Therefore, the activity in the market is not very high, but the market outlook is expected to rebound.
In the light rare earth market, the prices of neodymium, praseodymium metal and its oxide products are relatively stable. Except for the price of neodymium praseodymium and its oxide products, which have been rising all the way in the early stage, the recent price decline has become more obvious. Near the holiday of Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, the demand of downstream magnetic materials companies has declined. It is also the reason why the quotations of holders have generally been lowered recently. However, due to the impact of production costs and the "Golden September", there is limited room for market prices to fall.
In the medium and heavy rare earths market, the overall pattern is weak and stable. Investors have a strong wait-and-see sentiment to enter the market, making it difficult to update product prices. However, most of the players still have hope for the future. Recently, the implementation of the Resource Tax Law has reduced the resource tax rate for medium and heavy rare earths from 27% to 20%, which can reduce related corporate expenditures, thereby helping to increase corporate profit margins and increase corporate capital accumulation.
