China rare earth price was in the upward trend on the whole in the week began on Monday August 17, 2020 affected by the tight supply in the market. But price of dysprosium oxide and DyFe edged lower on Friday. Now both buyers and seller take a watchful stance, waiting the next move in the market.
The light rare earth market is active on the whole. Affected by the continuous progress of environmental protection, high temperature and flood season, rare earth mining companies face large difficulty in mining resulting in a substantial reduction in output. In addition, the expectation of purchasing and storage and increased demand help the price keep rising. In the medium and heavy rare earth market, it shows a mixed situation near the weekend, supported by favorable factors such as limited raw material inventory and more downstream inquiries. Most of the holders have a strong reluctance to sell, but due to insufficient consumption, it is difficult to increase the price of some products.
In the term of news: Customs data shows that from January to July this year, China exported 22,800 tons of rare earths, down 20.2% year-on-year, and the value was $211 million, down 26% year-on-year.
