Chenzhou Diamond Tungsten APT Metal Recovery Rate Reaches 97%

In May 2020, the tungsten content in the slag of Chenzhou Diamond Tungsten Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Chenzhou Diamond Tungsten) reached a record low, and the APT metal recovery rate reached more than 97%. Various technical indicators have been steadily increasing. The production and operation have marched forward and continue to promote tungsten smelting and upgrading.

In terms of technology, the company comprehensively implements a low-cost pressure process and urges upstream companies to reduce the use of flotation reagents. The front and back end work together to successfully overcome the problem of poor concentrate decomposition. In the process, each position of the workshop has greatly improved the work efficiency, especially the freezing and crystallization position. In the past, only two batches of materials could be processed a day, now five batches of materials can be processed per day.

In response to the problems of low raw material taste and impurities, the company carried out relevant experiments and creatively researched the dry and wet mix of raw materials "2+1+2" of the three companies of Shizhuyuan, Yuanjing Tungsten and Xintianling Tungsten. The method not only stabilizes the grade of tungsten ore, but also minimizes the instability factors of the mine sources in each mine, and the decomposition is more stable, thereby better controlling various impurity indicators.

The data shows that after being applied to production in April and May 2020, the average grade of tungsten ore in April was 44.3%, self-produced APT was 974 tons, and the metal recovery rate was 96.9%. The average grade of tungsten ore in May was 46.96% and self-produced APT was 975 tons. The metal recovery rate is 97%, reaching the leading level in the tungsten smelting industry.

In May, Chenzhou Diamond Tungsten successfully achieved a 47% year-on-year decrease in tungsten content in fluoride salt slag, a 22% year-on-year decrease in tungsten content in black tungsten slag, and tungsten content in soda slag, under the unfavorable conditions of upstream tungsten concentrate raw materials falling ten degrees. The amount decreased by 18% year-on-year, and the tungsten content in the purification slag decreased by 36% year-on-year. The content of tungsten metal in the four types of slag is the optimal level.

In terms of energy consumption, Chenzhou Diamond Tungsten started replacing lighting LED lights, transforming high-power motors in the factory into frequency conversion control, eliminating and deactivating high-energy consumption electrical equipment, and improving production processes. The 2079.77 kWh has been reduced to less than 800 kWh, greatly reducing production costs.

As for innovation, Chenzhou Diamond Tungsten started by reducing capital occupancy and reducing material costs, and actively explored effective ways to upgrade tungsten smelting in enterprises under the new situation. By the beginning of June, the company had collected more than 300 lean management proposals and completed 252, which played a positive role in eliminating waste, reducing cost, and increasing efficiency.
