Vietnam formulates 2021-2030 to 2050 stage plan of tungsten, rare earth, and other minerals for exploration, mining, processing, and usage. Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister has issued approval for Decision No. 295 of 2021-2030 to 2050 stage vision for the formulation in the exploration, mining, processing and use of various minerals.

Australia has identified 15 rare earth and critical mineral projects to champion as part of joint Australia-US efforts to challenge China's dominance in the supply of materials commonly used in the defense and high-tech industries in September last year. The 15 development projects include plans by Australia-listed Northern Minerals to build a mine and processing plant in the Western area.

LG Chem has signed an agreement with the US electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid Motors on February 25 to exclusively supply next-generation cylindrical batteries for EVs from the second half of this year until 2023, but the quantity and amount of the supply are not specific. Lucid Motors plans to start producing Lucid Air pure electric cars in 2020.
