Cesium Tungsten Bronze Nanopowder Applied for Glass Dome Thermal Insulating Film

Cesium tungsten bronze nanopowder for glass dome thermal insulating film can be synthesized by sol-gel method using tungsten powder, H2O2 and CsCl as raw materials. For example, the experts prepared the Cs0.33WO3 powder by such a method with excellent near-infrared shielding properties. In the process, they explored the effect of dispersant and different calcination conditions on the structure and properties of the prepared cesium tungsten bronze nanoparticles. And they also used X-ray diffractometer, transmission electron microscope, scanning electron microscope, X-ray energy spectrometer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ultraviolet/visible/near-infrared spectroscopy and other instruments to characterize the phase, microstructure, elemental composition and optical properties of the synthesized cesium tungsten bronze.

The experts found that the Cs0.33WO3 with good crystallinity, dispersibility and transparent heat insulation performance can be synthesized when the raw materials are calcined at 600 °C for 2 h using PEG-600 as a dispersant. The powder is mainly composed of nanorods with a width of about 50 nm. The highest visible light transmittance and near-infrared shielding performance of the obtained Cs0.33WO3 coating film are about 84% and 68%, respectively. In addition, XPS shows that the d-d electron transfer between different valence states W provides some help for the near-infrared shielding performance of Cs0.33WO3 powder.
