Tungsten oxide can be said to be a transparent thermal insulation nanopowder. That is because the heat-insulating materials prepared using tungsten oxide nanoparticles as raw materials such as heat-insulating coating and heat-insulating film are highly transparent heat insulating materials. And these heat insulation materials can all achieve the thermal insulation purpose by shielding the radiant heat of the infrared light portion of the sunlight. The radiant heat of infrared rays accounts for nearly 50% of the total energy of sunlight.

So, what is the heat insulation principle of transparent thermal insulation coating? The transparent heat-insulating coating is applied on the surface of the glass to form a uniform transparent coating film. The nano-conductive particles in the coating film contain a certain concentration of electron holes, which cause absorption of free carriers. This process is embodied in the solar spectrum – in the visible light region with a wavelength of 400-800nm, the transmittance of coating is not affected; in the ultraviolet region with a wavelength less than 400nm, the shielding rate of the coating film is about 90%; in the near-infrared region with a wavelength of 800-2500nm, about 43% of heat are blocked. It can be seen that the nano transparent heat-insulating coating is selective to the solar spectrum, thereby exhibiting the comprehensive performance of shielding ultraviolet light and infrared heat radiation with high transmittance of visible light.
