You may often see some players would paint powder or fix the anti-slip wax on the fingers to prevent removal of dart. But in daily training, the best way to maintain a dart is to ensure that there’is no grease on your darts and your hands. Professionally speaking, it's really necessary to clean darts at times.

John Lowe who has won three world champions said that professional athletes usually use tungsten alloy darts, which can be well cleaned by a natural method, that is, immersing the dart barrel all night long on the beach near your house. Other materials, such as toothpaste, vinegar and shaving gel, can also be used for cleaning. He cleaned the darts in such a similar way.

Generally, what we need is cleaning materials with super detergency, such as washing liquid. You can also achieve the same effect of by using shaving gel directly used in neat case. John Lowe has tried to use bleach to clean the dart, but after bleaching, the dart's surface will have some small bump, because the bleaching effect is too strong to corrode the surface’s coating. If you want to use bleach to clean darts, you should move very fast and don't let bleach stay on the darts surface for too long.
