Wolframite Slime Recycle – Carrier Flotation Method

Wolframite slime becomes beneficiation issue due to its fine particle. Recycle for finer minerals in slime is even harder. In recent years, to deal with fine concentrate slime effectively, there are other methods which accumulate first and beneficiate second. Carrier flotation method is one of the newly developed wolframite slime recycle method.
Principle of carrier flotation method is using coarse particle as carrier, fine particle will attach on the surface of coarse particle to separate, carrier can be other element.
Carrier flotation for wolframite slime recycle uses flotation method of itself, carrier is coarse grain or high grade concentrate. It avoids difficulties in separate minerals, in the next step, so as to save cost and time.
Process for wolframite slime recycle carrier flotation method is: combine one batch of wolframite slime with another concentrate with high WO3 content, under action of flotation agent, concentrate fine particle can use concentrate as carrier, during this process it is attached to tungsten concentrate and accumulate.
Study shows that use coarse tungsten concentrate with grain size 25~38um as carrier for concentrate smaller than 5um and artificial mixed mine composed by 20um quartz. In benzene - ethyl dilute acid solution, when pH value is adjusted to 8, 5um concentrate can attach on coarse concentrate. Quartz and coarse concentrate are mutual exclusive, so as to realize separation of fine concentrate and quartz. In mixed mine containing 0.3% WO3, we can obtain concentrate grade of 75%, recovery rate of 80%. It promote 1/3 recycle rate compared to regular flotation method and has wide application prosperity.
