In the process of tungsten ore beneficiation, sodium silicate is often used as inhibitor. However, sodium silicate can not solve all the problems. So there is also organic inhibitor in tungsten ore beneficiation.
Organic inhibitor used in tungsten ore beneficiation includes tannin, starch, pyrogallic acid, sodium humate, sodium lignosulphonate, oxalic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, lactic acid and succinic acid. They have distinctive function as following:
1. Oxalic acid, succinic acid and lactic acid can inhibit barite and gamet.
2. Citric acid, lactic acid can inhibit mica and monocrystallinequartz silicate minerals.
3. Tannin can inhibit vein minerals and minerals containing calcium and magnesium.
4. Starch, sodium humate and sodium lignosulphonate can be used to inhibit quartz, calcite, fluorite and gamet.
5. Pyrogallic acid is used to inhibit calcite and float fluorite. It can be used to inhibit hematite without affecting cassiterite flotation.
In a word, organic inhibitor is good supplementary of sodium silicate for efficiency of tungsten ore beneficiation.
