Tungsten Carbide Ball Grinding Technology

The methods adopted in tungsten carbide ball grinding mainly include: V-shaped groove grinding, conical grinding, spin rotation control grinding, dual rotation grinding disc grinding, magnetic suspension grinding, and so on.
 
When processing tungsten carbide balls, there exits many problems due to its high hardness, which include: low surface energy, grinding media, poor adhesion properties of grinding medium, and so on. These problems will affect processing efficiency, surface roughness, machining accuracy, and so on. Therefore, the key processing technologies and difficulties lie in: 
1. Increasing adhesion properties of grinding medium to the tungsten carbide ball surface. Grinding mediums include abradant and grinding lubricant. Abradant can be used in the cutting of tungsten carbide surface, while grinding lubricant helps abradant well adhere to the tungsten carbide ball surface and thus ensure uniformity and effectiveness of abradant cutting. 
2. Improving the rotation performance of tungsten carbide ball. By changing the angle and shape of grinding plate groove and rotation speed of grinding plate, the rotation performance of tungsten carbide balls can then be adjusted. 
3. Optimization of batch processing parameters. The grinding technology parameters include the speed of grinding plate, pressure, groove shape, etc. 
After solving these key technologies problems, the surface roughness, machining precision and processing efficiency of tungsten carbide ball grinding can be ensured.
