Density and Rheological Properties of Tungsten Nylon Shielding

Research indicates that if density of tungsten nylon shielding material is below 11g/cm3, the composite material can meet the flow behavior of pseudoplastic fluids. When attains 11.8g/cm3 density, since the melt will not have shear-thinning properties, it will not suitable for injection molding. In addition, as the density increases, the shear rate on the non-Newtonian index becomes weaker. When the density is 11.0g/cm3, the shear rate on non-Newtonian index changes caused only minor changes in the non-Newtonian index. As the flow stability have a significant impact on the performance of the final product, the non-Newtonian index changes smaller, flow properties is more stable. Therefore, the 11.0g/cm3 density of the composite material is suitable for injection molding.
