Applications of Single-crystal Ammonium Paratungstate

Studies have shown that tungsten powder can be prepared using single-crystal ammonium paratungstate as a raw material by calcination - hydrogen reduction. With good fluidity, the prepared W powder has small sliding friction resistance during the pressing process, so that the void defects of the billet are significantly reduced, and the mechanical properties of the processed material are greatly improved.

Also, it has been proved that single crystal APT with excellent tensile and fracture resistance is a necessary raw material for the production of high-quality tungsten wire for vehicles. The yield of tungsten wire produced with single crystal APT as a raw material is 90%, while the yield of tungsten wire produced with polycrystalline APT as a raw material is only 70%. In addition, single-crystal ammonium paratungstate has become an excellent powdery material for fabricating high-performance tungsten materials such as armored bombs, micro-drills, and CNC blades due to its excellent counterweight effect.
