Tungsten Carbide Gouge

Tungsten carbide gouge is a very rough wood turning tool that is typically used to create the general shape of the wood stock being turned, but can also be used for fine finishing simply by changing the angle of use.

The tungsten carbide gouge gives the wood turner the opportunity to take more material at once without damaging the gouge or creating skip marks on the stock. The cuts for decorative grooves are also cleaner, reducing sanding after the fact. As with all of the carbide tools, the blades are able to be changed at will, eliminating the need for constantly sharpening the blades.
