Scheelite Flotation at Room Temperature and High Efficiency

Scheelite is a kind of mineral resource which is not easy to be mined. It often coexists with calcium gangue, has low geological grade and is relatively difficult to beneficiate. In order to obtain qualified scheelite concentrate in industry, flotation technology is widely used in the process of selecting scheelite. The most traditional method is heating flotation.
The common Scheelite Flotation at room temperature requires a large amount of sodium silicate and flotation reagents. The process parameters are strictly controlled and the operation is tedious. Recently, experts from Central South University have proposed a new method to concentrate scheelite at room temperature, which can reduce the consumption of sodium silicate, reduce water environmental pollution, reduce production costs and improve the efficiency and resource utilization of mining enterprises. The process is as follows:
1)Slurry adjustment: The wolframite containing 30.42% of WO is injected into the flotation machine after grinding and classification, and the slurry concentration is adjusted to 30% and the slurry pH value is about 9, stirring for 5 minutes.
2)Rough separation: adding water glass inhibitor 2000g/t, stirring for 3 minutes, then adding sodium oleate and Benzohydroxamic acid combined collector 800g/t, the scheelite crude concentrate was obtained by flotation.
3)Concentration: concentration of scheelite concentrate to 60%, using sodium silicate as inhibitor, water glass dosage of 7500 g/t, and heating to 90 ℃, stirring 60 minutes, dilution to 30% mass concentration, through six closed-circuit blank concentrating process to obtain scheelite concentrate.
In the technological process, the high alkalinity and ionic strength environment formed by sodium silicate in the pulp is conducive to enhancing the selective chelation of sodium humate and strengthening the selective inhibition of calcium gangue minerals in scheelite, which have a synergistic effect. Therefore, energy saving, emission reduction and clean production can be achieved without heating. Moreover, the consumption of sodium silicate and inhibitors in the new process has been greatly reduced, which can not only save costs, but also meet the needs of environmental protection, so as to make full use of mineral resources and improve the economic benefits of mining enterprises.
