One-Dimensional Tungsten Nitride Preparation

With the progress of science and technology and the development of society, nano-materials have gradually penetrated into various fields. One-dimensional nanomaterials, due to their unique structure and properties, have wide application prospects in optoelectronic devices, catalysis, energy storage and sensors.
Transition metal nitrides possess not only the stability of ceramic materials, but also the high conductivity of transition metals. Tungsten nitride is one of the materials with excellent conductivity in transition metal nitrides. Due to the limitation of preparation technology and synthesis conditions, tungsten nitride is usually used in coatings, cutting tools or catalytic materials with block or particle structure. It is found that tungsten nitride exhibits excellent conductivity over other metals such as titanium nitride and nickel nitride, while the preparation of one-dimensional tungsten nitride materials will make it possible. New breakthroughs have been made in the electrical properties of one-dimensional ceramic nanofibers.
The preparation method of one-dimensional tungsten nitride material includes the following processes:
1.The electrospinning solution was obtained by dissolving 8g ammonium metatungstate and 4G PVP in a mixture of 20g water and 15g ethanol. Then, the electrospinning solution was transferred to the electrospinning equipment. The electrospinning voltage was 20kV, the spinning distance was 18cm, and the flow rate of solution was 5mL/h. The precursor nanofibers containing tungsten element were obtained by electrospinning.
2.The obtained tungsten-containing element precursor nanofibers are placed in an electric resistance furnace, and heated at a rate of 5 °C/min to 600 °C for 3 hours to obtain WO3 nanofibers; finally, the WO3 nanofibers are placed in a tube furnace nitrogen. The treatment was carried out by heating to a temperature of 5 °C / min to 600 °C for 3 hours to obtain a one-dimensional tungsten nitride nanofiber sample.
The process uses nitrogen source gas as the reducing gas of WO3, which provides the necessary synthesis atmosphere for the in-situ preparation of tungsten nitride nanofibers. By combining electrospinning technology and high temperature nitriding technology, it is simple, fast, energy efficient and high in preparation. The performance of tungsten nitride nanofibers has a wide range of applications and is suitable for large-scale production of one-dimensional tungsten nitride nanofibers.
